Lecture outline

Mike ToveyThe introduction of Computer Aided Design techniques has revolutionised Industrial Design over the past decade, particularly in the area of designed manufactured consumer products.  Coventry University has played a key role in ensuring that the needs and practices of Industrial Design are properly recognised and catered for.

Coventry University is at the leading edge of research on effective computer support for industrial designers.  This has been tackled in two stages – for design development and for concept design.  The Lecture traced the historical and educational development of Industrial Design through to the start-of-the art techniques and processes of the 1990s.
