Nobody's Perfect

Lecture summary

Brian ToftEvery day, people make scores of decisions, each person trusting that they have made the most appropriate ones.  Unfortunately, there are powerful inherent processes within human beings that can affect both individuals and groups of people.  If not recognised and managed effectively, these influences can increase the risk of decisions being made that can lead to unwelcome consequences such as Patient Safety Incidents.  This lecture, drawing on a variety of practical examples and academic sources, examined a number of these potentially damaging mechanisms to good judgement.

Lecture date: 26th February 2009
