Within a world characterised by fast changes, the role of applied research is becoming increasingly important. Not only should the results of applied research address current challenges but more so finding guiding principles addressing possible future challenges.

Within this context, there are various important areas in the broader field of entrepreneurship to address. However, the IAE cannot focus on them all and are guided by industry challenges, priorities of Coventry University, and capabilities to focus on four themes namely global entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial leadership, social enterprise, entrepreneurship education.
