Vehicle Handling Assessment
This work primarily focuses on discovering definitive links between measurable vehicle metrics and subjective driver assessment.
This has led to some benchmarking of what defines “quality” vehicle handling for the benefit of car designers, manufacturers and testers.
Other research has involved studies in modelling the fundamental dynamics of vehicle handling from first principles in order to focus on the important properties which have a major effect on professional drivers’ opinions of modern road cars. This will help to reduce the development time and costs for passenger vehicles using mathematical packages such as Matlab.
