Airbag and dummy interactionThe Automotive Engineering Applied Research Group (AEARG) was established in 1993 to act as a focus for automotive related research in the Faculty of Engineering and Computing.

Strong external support has been received from Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and major automotive companies and their suppliers.

Collaborative programmes have been undertaken with; ArvinMeritor, Daewoo, Dunlop Tyres, Ford Motor Company, Jaguar Cars, Johnson Mathhey, Land Rover, Lucas, Mira, Rover Group and Siemens.
