Workplace Wellbeing Applied Research Group

Workplace wellbeing relates to all aspects of working life, from the quality and safety of the physical environment, to how individuals feel about their work.

Aims of the group

This Applied Research Group (ARG) has been developed in response to the increasing awareness and experience of employers of the positive benefits of a physically and emotionally healthy workforce.

The Workplace Wellbeing ARG's mission is the advancement of knowledge through evidence based research. This is an exciting new development and an excellent addition to the portfolio of applied research taking place at Coventry University. The Workplace Wellbeing ARG is unique in that it offers opportunities to members from both academic and professional services backgrounds.

The group has been established to bring together expertise from various disciplines to offer a service that is at the forefront of research into workplace wellbeing. The strength of the Workplace Wellbeing ARG is in the diversity of its members which enables us to draw on expertise and offer a tailored package to address individual research needs.

Our role

The role of the Workplace Wellbeing ARG will be to take an institutional lead into research on workplace wellbeing and to respond to external initiatives in the Coventry and Warwickshire area. The team have already established excellent external links with potential funders, for example we are currently attracting funding from Coventry City Council and one of our local Primary Care Trusts The Workplace Wellbeing ARG is uniquely positioned in the institution for drawing on expertise and forming cross institutional partnerships for exploiting opportunities for future funding.
