Vehicle Dynamics and Safety (VDAS)

The Vehicle Dynamics and Safety Applied Research Group primarily covers projects and activities that involve automotive work but will also include aerospace and other applications.

These will include:

• Vehicle dynamics
• Vehicle rollover
• Automotive occupant protection
• The advanced use of computer simulation in all areas of vehicle dynamics and automotive safety
• Human body modelling
• The biomechanics of injury
• Automotive and aircraft tyre modelling
• Aircraft and helicopter occupant protection
• The modelling and simulation of airbags
• Modelling of advanced vibration isolation systems
