HLI research - Teenage Sexual HeathSASH is a sub group of the Applied Research Centre in Health and Lifestyle Interventions.

The work of the research centre as a whole is underpinned by the theory and evidence base and rigorous methodology of the discipline of Health Psychology.  SASH apply this approach and collaborate on a wide range of research and consultancy projects addressing issues relating to the sexual health of young people.

The group consists of academic and applied researchers and has the following aims within the area of adolescent sexual health and related topics that include:

  • Undertaking research projects that inform and support applied work
  • Designing theory and evidence based interventions
  • Evaluating the feasibility and effectiveness of such interventions
  • Using research evidence to inform and enhance sexual health service provision, education, and health promotion for adolescents and young people
