Patient Experience and Healthcare Quality in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome
Carol Percy
Carol will use her sabbatical to further develop her research on patient experience and healthcare quality in the common chronic endocrine disorder polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).
This will extend her previous work which includes a patient-centred evaluation of psychosocial support for PCOS, and women’s experiences of attending lay-led self management training. Carol hopes to gain external funding to develop a programme of work with two objectives:
- To improve care quality, by using patient experiences to inform clinical practice
- To investigate the effectiveness of a wider range of self management interventions, such as online support and motivational interviewing.
