National Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Managers Conference

Welcome

Coventry University are delighted to have been the hosts of the 2010 National Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) Managers Conference. "Accelerating the growth of KTP across the UK" formed the core theme of the conference, with key speakers from the Technology Strategy Board (TSB), the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), industry contributors, and the National KTP Forum.  This year’s conference wass intended to be an interactive experience, offering participants the chance to get involved through workshops and debates as well as providing space for the sharing of best practice and informal networking.

Workshop sessions aimed to draw out the key issues of sales, business development, recruitment and retention - from how to market KTPs, the skills needed to do this successfully, and how to attract and retain graduates, to streamlining recruitment systems and processes. Additional workshops discussed the relationship between KTP and ERDF funding, and looked at the opportunities presented by Shorter KTPs - drawing on the expertise of both Advantage West Midlands and the KTP Programme Office. The two-day conference concluded with a panel debate about the future of KTP. All of the daytime conference sessions were held at the award-winning Coventry TechnoCentre conference venue on Coventry University Technology Park, situated in the centre of Coventry.

Thursday evening’s entertainment began with a drinks reception at Coventry’s historic Guildhall, hosted by the Lord Mayor, before moving on to the more modern setting of the Coventry Transport Museum for dinner and dancing.

The Coventry University team would like to thank all our speakers, facilitators and delegates for helping us put on such a successful conference. All of the notes and presentations can now be downloaded from the KTP Conference 2010 Blog.
