Student email
Students’ University email accounts will be delivered through Microsoft’s Outlook Live service (Live@EDU).
Some features of this service include:
- 15GB mailbox
- 20MB attachments
- Windows Live Spaces
- Windows Live Messenger
- Windows Live Skydrive (online storage space, accessible from anywhere on the internet)
- the ability to have all email accounts in one place
- the ability to forward to a personal account
- mobile connectivity
- a free account for life even after you graduate, provided you log in at least once a year.
New students
For new students, your live@edu account will be created upon your ITS Registration process. Once you have filled out a few small bits of information, your account will be ready for you to use within two hours. In order to do that, you'll need to do a few things to set it up the first time you use it.
That's all there is to it. Your mailbox will be accessible within two hours after registration and you can begin to take advantage of all the new features. You may need to reset your password. Resetting your password there will also reset your access to all Coventry University systems – please ensure you follow our advice on creating a strong password.
Former students
Students should be aware that while you are studying at Coventry University, your email address will end with @coventry.ac.uk. Once you have left the University, this will automatically become @uni.coventry.ac.uk. This is to allow you to keep your account for life. Once this happens, you will need to change your password within outlook.com, and not via the renew password page as above (other University systems also have a new password change process – visit our passwords page for more information).
