Notes

English Requirements and Support

International students on Distance/Blended learning courses will be asked to pay full tuition fees prior to course commencing or being given University access to remote facilities.

International Merit Scheme Scholarship

Students awarded an International Merit Scholarship are required to pay 66% of the full tuition fee before or at enrolment. The merit scholarship will be credited automatically and deducted from the second payment due on 11 January 2010.

EU Students

Due to changes in Government policy, students applying to study at Universities in England on courses which have Equivalent or Lower Qualification (ELQ) aims than qualifications already gained by the student (regardless of the awarding institution) will not attract government funding
subsidies.

Students who fall into this category will be charged a higher, non-subsidised tuition fee. Coventry University reserves the right to charge the higher non-subsidised tuition fee in the event that a student has not fully disclosed their highest qualification. Students must ensure that they
immediately inform Coventry University if they gain a higher qualification between the date of application to Coventry University and the date at enrolment at the University.

The fees quoted for EU students normally include a subsidy from the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE). From 1 August 2008 HEFCE will no longer provide a subsidy for students who already have a postgraduate or undergraduate qualification and who are taking another qualification at the equivalent or lower level.

ELQ fees (New students in 2009/10 only)

Undergraduate £5,000
Postgraduate £1,080 plus standard fee

There are a number of exceptions to this rule and applicants should contact the International Office to discuss if they fall in to one of these categories.

EU Merit Scheme Scholarship (PG Taught)

There are twenty £1000 scholarships available to European students. There is no separate scholarship application process: all applications from self-funded EU students will automatically be considered for a merit scholarship.

Successful applicants will be asked to pay a £500 commitment fee to secure the £1000 merit scholarship.

Alumni Students

Coventry University honours and masters degrees students receive an additional full payment discount of £500 from the first year of a full-time postgraduate programme fees providing they enrol within 12 months of the undergraduate course end date.
