‘I really wanted to come and study in the Midlands as I have family living nearby and had heard a lot about it. I had never been to this part of the UK before and it completely met my expectations. In particular the Maths department and my faculty are incredibly organised and after 3 years – I can truly say - I love it!

I love the city too and the fact that the University is right in the heart of the city centre so everything is within walking distance. This is important for a student coming from another country as we don’t have cars. Coventry also has a good bus service so you can get around easily.

I remember settling in very quickly and lived in University student accommodation for my first two years. It was comfortable, clean and very modern. Now I live in a house with a friend who is also from Cyprus.

In terms of the degree, there is a dedicated Maths Support Centre, really good tutors and the lectures are always fantastic. There is always a lot of support and help – you only have to ask!

When I graduate, I hope to do a masters degree and then go on to teach. I have already done a short teaching placement which will help me achieve this. Coming to University has made me so much more independent. I’ve had to make my own decisions and take control of my life – everyone should experience life at University! I highly recommend it.’
