The main reason I chose to study at Coventry University was the partnership with my school in China. The partnership meant I could study for just one more year for my undergraduate course.

Coventry University has offered great opportunities for students, such as Erasmus, internship programmes for postgraduates, graduate work opportunities and placements – all of which encourages students to put their knowledge into practice.

At Coventry you get to be really independent with your learning and it’s really flexible. It’s practical learning where you can apply the taught theory to your work rather than just learning the theory. Our course is truly international: we engage with the outside world by sharing ideas with other international students.

The course was well designed and taught well. It gave me a broad view from learning which was not only based on books, but doing business projects gave students a chance to study outside the box and realise how business projects are managed and ran. It helped me to think differently, work academically and co-ordinate effectively.

As part of my course I was using new software which provided up-to-date knowledge of business practices. I also received guidance such as skill requirements for job hunting as well as help to add value to my CV. The course is really intense but as long as you study hard, you can achieve great results.

The lecturers and supervisors here are really helpful and if you communicate properly with them about your understanding of the course work, they’ll always help you out. As long as you prepare properly for the lectures, they’ll help you with anything because they know that you’re here to learn.

The facilities on campus are convenient for students to use at anytime. I took advantage of benefits such as free printing, 24-hour computer rooms and the on-campus Waterstone’s bookshop. The new Student Centre also provides additional assistance for international students, such as careers advices, trips and events.

Outside of my study time, I’ve enjoyed social events, some of which were organised by the International Office. I’ve also worked part time outside the University which has helped me to get involved in the city and meet new people. This has enriched my overseas study life. It’s fantastic!

My plan is to find a job in the UK and I also hope to explore the country and its culture.
