Charlotte spent three months helping victims of the Haiti earthquake
This summer I spent three months in Haiti. Before the earthquake I had never really heard much about the country but I ended up staying in a city called Leogane, approximately 50km south of the capital city Port Au Prince and only 11km away from the epicentre of the quake. Leogane was the place worst affected place by the earthquake - 80,000 people died and 90% of the houses collapsed. I volunteered for a charity called All Hands, previously known as Hands on Disaster Response. The charity is an American based organisation which provides hands-on assistance to survivors of natural disasters around the world.
