CPD/short courses

Within HDTI, training and teaching is delivered to a variety of user groups including University students and postgraduates, healthcare professionals undertaking CPD training and SME training.

A the Institute we have an objective to deliver specific SME courses within the targeted area of community health which include:

  • Emerging routes to market
  • Trends in technology use
  • Product compliance and current legislation
  • Routes to becoming an approved supplier
  • Designing for older people
  • Ergonomics and inclusive design in the workplace/home
  • Understanding the self-managing patient

Upcoming courses include:

  • Designing to meet medical device regulations within assistive technologies
  • Location Independent Living
  • Going above the DDA compliance as a necessity and business advantage
  • Developing Inclusive Design for all

We also offer a number of degree courses that run on a part time basis.

Cancellation policy

The cancellation policy for HDTI courses and events is as follows:

  • Over 28 days notice - full refund
  • Less than 28 days notice - partial refund as detailed below:
    • 22-28 days notice - 75% refund
    • 15-21 days notice - 50% refund
    • 8-14 days notice - 25% refund
    • Less than 7 days notice - no refund

    Assitive Technology Learning Tool

    The ATLT is an online learning tool that has been designed to enable you to develop a greater awareness of what electronic assistive technology (AT) is and how it can offer choices for individuals to maintain or improve their health and wellbeing.

    Who is the ATLT aimed at?

    The ATLT has been developed to support the learning needs of a variety of people including students of undergraduate courses related to health and social care, health and social care support workers from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines, people that work in independent or third sector employment or voluntary work and practitioners who come into contact with service users that might find assistive technology useful. If you are a manager or tutor the ATLT could provide a valuable learning opportunity for your staff or students.

    How much does the AT learning tool cost?

    The complete online course in Assistive Technology costs £100 (includes VAT). It can be accessed 24hrs a day through the online site and is available for 60 days once purchased.
