Department of English and Languages

Are you interested in language and languages? Your own or other people’s (or maybe both)? And perhaps the cultures and societies that shape the language? Or English literature and creative writing? If so, then we have something to offer you.

We have excellent teaching and learning facilities in our Languages Centre, and relationships between staff and students are friendly and informal.

Courses

The Department offers a range of practical and contemporary courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Research

We are actively engaged in research and house a research group in English and Languages in the Professions and Higher Education (ELPHE). Supervision is available for MPhil and PhD students in various aspects of language studies and language teaching.
