About the Scheme

The KTP scheme is a UK-wide programme enabling organisations to improve their competitiveness, productivity and performance through a partnership with an academic institution.

Coventry University is partnering UK businesses to increase their competitiveness, productivity and performance. The programme, or KTPs, is led by the business and supported by a university expert. It places a recently qualified person into the company, thereby enabling the business to access knowledge, skills or technologies to help it develop, in whatever way it needs to. Whether it’s a short or long term project, Coventry University can provide a solution.  So what does it involve?

  • Placement of one or more recently qualified persons (KTP associate) in the company, overseen by company personnel and a senior academic.
  • 10-40 weeks (Short KTP) or 1-3 years (Classic KTP) – you choose
  • Unlimited access to knowledge, technologies and skills within the university
  • Part funded by a government grant – the business pays only a third of the project costs
