Research
The Department also has a strong reputation in research with the Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Interventions Applied Research Group, led by Professor Sally Singh, working in collaboration with Ann Green. There is a thriving and fast developing research culture within the Department, and we were delighted to receive a good grading in the last Research Assessment Exercise where we were recognised as producing work of national and international standing.
Continuing Professional Development
Our undergraduate, postgraduate and research provision in Physiotherapy and Dietetics are strongly inter-related. Teaching is evidence-based, and the ethos of continuing-professional development is strongly supported in a culture where undergraduate students study alongside qualified colleagues doing further study. We have been pleased to see a number of successful PhD completions from the Department in recent years.
The Department has excellent links with a large number of external agencies, such as hospital trusts. We also enjoy strong links with other disciplines within the University, which is evident to students through the shared programmes of teaching and learning at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Expertise
With so many students, we employ a large number of academic staff to deliver our programmes. This provides an excellent range of subject expertise. All staff are committed to the delivery of educational excellence, with strong mechanisms for student support to create a happy and stimulating teaching environment.
