Our Law programmes are taught in a modern environment, which includes a mooting room and an extensive law library.

Facilities for Geography and Environmental Management include the latest GIS and image processing software; a comprehensive range of laboratory and field equipment and a tropical greenhouse used by project students for research and experiments. There is also specialist equipment used in disaster relief provided by Oxfam and Relief Pod International and a dedicated Information Resource room that houses a unique collection of maps and documents relating to Disaster Management.

The Faculty is strongly committed to research and the large majority of staff are actively involved in applied research. Our applied research activities engage with real world issues, creating and sharing knowledge which informs both professional practice and student learning.

The Faculty works closely with educational institutions in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

We also have close links with UK professional bodies such as the Law Society, the Institute of Economic Development, the Chartered Institute of Marketing and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
